  1. What should you do when all your friends have either gotten married or are in relationships, and you’re the only single person left and you feel lonely?

    1. Just wait. Statistically, you will get some of your friends back. Also statistically you’ll lose some of them again, but then get nearly all of them back again.

      In seriousness, I know it is hard to make new friends in adulthood. It’s hard trying to force friendships to form as opposed to how they form more organically in youth.

      Best course of action, learn to enjoy your own company. Or maybe get a pet if that’s practical for you.

    2. Another alternative is to get a really time-consuming hobby to sink almost your entire spare time into, but this probably only really works if you are on the autism spectrum. If not, then you probably need a bit more variety. I have friends in similar situations who enjoy traveling (if they have a lot of money) or hiking (if they want to keep their money or need to be mindful of their budget). Some older adults, and retirees in particular, seem to really enjoy doing ridiculously large jigsaw puzzles. There is always the option of just working harder and longer, and see what comes from that.

      Is there any benefits to male friendship? I’ve never understood why men have often complained about the lack of male friendship. Its something I never quite understood since I’ve always been loner my entire life, and I’ve never had any issues. I never cared if I was accepted. Perhaps, I’m an anomaly compared to the average guy.

    4. In my view, for young men friendships are little more than a means to an end to facilitate socializing, and as you get older, these friendships basically disappear. You will likely stay in touch with just a few guys, and even with these interactions may be limited to a phone call twice a year, i.e. around each other’s birthday, provided they are sufficiently far apart. At some point, life just gets in the way. Working a demanding job is already enough in many cases but once guys settle down, their social life gravely deteriorates. The same is true for women, albeit they start from a position of many more but much more shallow contacts.

      What stops you from making new friends or finding a women to have a relationship and live with?

      Although it’s harder when you age, but age is most certainly it’s not a block for that.

      What are your thoughts about men joining college fraternities, Greek life? The cost of joining a fraternity is a serious financial strain. I don’t think it worth the financial effort just to meet people, and have access to sorority girls.

    7. Isn’t the cost of joining a fraternity largely for rent in the house? In any case, college socializing is probably a bit overrated. The goal is to set yourself up for the rest of your life, and if you can get laid you will get laid, regardless of whether you are in a frat or not. The social pressure to socialize is arguably quite detrimental.

  3. About that Jet crashing in India. People were pointing out how the building it stuck to and exploded on didn’t collapse. Making fun that India must have superior architecture compared to something like the twin towers. I’m sure there is a reasonable explanation, though.

I am sure that all buildings in India were reinforced after 9/11 to ensure that such a devastating attack could not happen there, or perhaps Western architecture has been engaging in so much navel-gazing that they simply did not consider simpler options. After all, India embraces “jugaad” as a way of life.

    2. Jugaad is crazy. You might not believe this, but I just recently had an Indian guy say about S. Korea’s extremely low birthrate that perhaps they’ve reached a population ceiling. However, he failed to acknowledge India’s population is nearly 30x that of S. Korea’s while the fertility rate is around 2.0. Apparently the replacement level needs to be around 2.1 for them to keep up this astounding pace, so I’m sure some Western interference can perhaps help.

      What I mean is, the US reportedly granted India 10 billion dollars in food aid to combat famine from about the 1950s-70s. Even Churchill of all people noted that Indian’s breed like rabbits, suggesting this was bad practice. This is direct tampering with natural selection, while importing Indian’s to the tech sector in the West modern day is only going to help to increase their numbers further.

      So, what the Indian fellow fails to realize is that Korean’s (and Europeans) are K-selected, and that importing the third world to the West coupled with the increased competition in the work sector it brings, as well as a worsening economy, is going to result in lower birth rates for native populations. Meanwhile, Indians will continue to breed at twice or more the pace.

Also, it’s insane how the elites argue to white civilizations that deindustrialization is necessary to save the planet while also encouraging those populations not to breed to cut down on fossil fuel usage, or even because whites, for example, might feel hopeless about the future and choose not to bring a child into the world as a result. The apocalypse, after all, is always around the corner. The religious among us are always worried about the rapture while the more atheistic have fallen for climate hoaxes etc.

      R-selected types do not give a shit about these types of sentiments and will continue to breed, I figure. What’s so astounding is that the elites will argue that it is our moral obligation to feed the underclass of these groups while simultaneously encouraging deindustrialization. However, by importing these third worlders and by advancing their societies we only place more strain on our global energy requirements.

    4. This is a very good point. What is worse, it is quite obvious that for many decades if not at least about a century, the Western world has slowly been adopting a YOLO mindset. There was a time when rulers strove for financial stability. Prussia, as an example, had a history of amassing enormous financial resources while the country prospered. The current model, though, is to bankrupt both governments and citizens. I am not aware of any Western country making any attempt at paying down their debts. Sweden is a great example: housing is so expensive that the standard approach is to take out an essentially indefinitely long mortgage where you only pay interest, effectively renting your house from the government. Meanwhile, the government apparently has enough money to support an overabundant welfare state.

    5. I mention all this because I initially had a thought about sexbots and realized that without artificial wombs and genonmics, which I doubt will come as a package, it’s probably going to end with more population decline in K-selected groups. Like, I get the argument that modern women are fat, tattooed, ugly and obnoxious/insufferable, but I also get the sense that sexbots would end up being yet another highly subversive tool.

    6. Another interesting phenomenon I’ve noticed in the US is that in my field a lot of African women AKA “international contractors” have are being shipped in at relatively low rates. For one, the are some of the sleepiest motherfuckers I’ve ever witnessed. They are just always falling asleep. They are almost 9 times out of 10 likely to end up pregnant almost immedIately as soon as they’re imported. I wonder why?

    Heh, this would be heaven for us, wouldn’t it? Back when Bars and Clubs were mainstream, the best ones (heck, even if your goal wasn’t to pick up, but just enjoy the scenery) were the ones where the women outnumbered the men. the higher female-to-male ratio, the better.

    But imagine if the world was like that? I wonder what would that be like. I’ll definitely check this manga out in a bit.

    2. I think that the plan was for Israel to attack Iran, and the US to come in to “finish the job”. Seeing how well Iran is able to defend itself from Israeli aggression, presumably with the help from allies like China, Trump may have second thoughts. Right now, I do not think that US solders will end up on the ground in Iran. A good question is what would happen if Iran is able to take out the US’s most important ally. I could imagine Trump to dump everything he has on Iran. It would perfectly fit the pattern we are observing: lies, deception, emotional responses, indecisiveness. What does this remind me of?

    1. Who would have thought a few years ago that a game like this would become one of the most significant releases in gaming? The mods look very good. I have been wondering if there are similar mods for games that cater to a Western audience, such as Forspoken, Saints Row, The Last of Us, and Horizon: Zero Dawn.

    2. I have the game wishlisted, so I will grab it for the right price one day. However, I’m not planning on getting into it until I’ve beaten DMC 1-4, Bayonetta 1&2, and the Ninja Gaiden trilogy which are all in my library already.

      I haven’t done a ton of gaming recently. I’ve been playing guitar and doing music related stuff on my laptop for 4-6 hours a day. My most recent gaming included getting back into Sea of Stars for the free DLC that recently dropped, then I went back and got the true ending. I really enjoyed that game overall, and seeing the true ending after taking a break from a couple years was kind of emotional (gay, I know). I’ve really been wanting to play a new RPG for some reason. I’m kind of just sort of getting over the whole super difficulty gaming experience of souls games and shmups. After playing so much music, a nice RPG to settle into before bed sounds relaxing. There’s a game called Star Ocean The Second Story R I picked up on sale a while back and kind of forgot I even had.

      Just for the record I definitely intend on getting back into shmups hardcore at some point. I also have a massive library of the best shmups ever to attempt to 1CC. I’ll probably never need to buy another one but there are some interesting ones coming out soon.     3. I have done virtually zero gaming for months, and hardly any writing in recent times, but I intend to write one or two articles later today. One reason is that I want to spend less time in front of a screen. Now that the weather is getting better, I regularly spend time outside. A new pastime I have been exploring is doing jigsaw puzzles. This is a surprisingly meditative experience. Last week, I did a 1,000-piece one over a few evenings and yesterday a surprisingly difficult 500-piece one. I have also gotten a stack of physical books.

      I have heard of Earthion. I like the idea of producing games for older systems as hardware limitations require creative workarounds. This is one reason why there are so many classic 16-bit games whereas nowadays it is unclear what a future modern classic game would even look like. When you look up discussions on classic Xbox games, then people wax lyrical about playing Halo or Halo 2, but it is about the multiplayer experience back in the days, not guys building gaming rooms and experiencing these games anew. That being said, I also have the impression that interest in retrogaming is waning. There are of course collectors who keep used-game prices high but the player base seems to be stagnant at best.

    4. I feel that the barrier for entry into retro gaming is quite high due to, as you pointed out, high costs. Of course, there is emulation, but that potentially can come with legal issues. I also don’t see much of gen Z having much of a desire or even attention span to get an emulator up and running.

      In other gaming news, the new Tomb Raider RPG was cancelled due to “creative differences”. I wonder if there were some red blooded males that said fuck this and quit because they kept nerfing Laura’s face/tits/ass. I mean, I kind of doubt this is the reason for the cancellation but that would be hilarious.

  9. Grok amuses me. I wanted to know how it explained the status quo of Indian society if not by lower general intelligence. A lot of waffling resulted, claiming, among others, that IQ studies are flawed but also that high-IQ societies can collapse (so, is IQ now real or not?), pointing to Germany in the 1930s. Grok did not like me pointing out that Germany did not collapse on its own and that its scientists in the 1920 and 1930 contributed more to the world than all of India does today and that life in Germany back then was arguably better than life in India 100 years later. It was ridiculous seeing pages upon pages trying to make the point that India today either matches or closely matches Germany in the 1920s, and that this partly invalidated my claim. Look at this crap: “India’s space and biotech achievements rival Germany’s 1930s applied sciences (rocketry, chemistry), and its research volume is unmatched due to modern scale.” Thus, being able to build a rocket in 2020 is as impressive than the work Wernher von Braun did in Peenemünde. Got it.

    1. I remember having a conversation with ChatGPT after it became available about European vs African IQ. The basic answer it gave me was that it was unfair to compare intelligence levels of these populations because Europeans had more opportunities and resources available to them. I argued that Europe is actually not that resource rich and that the climate was harsh, and that it was the ingenuity of the native people that provided an environment that was filled with opportunities etc. ChatGPT just would not budge, even after pointing out that African descended people have no historical relevance to any modern innovation.

      Related to the whole resource argument, the American Indians had it made yet never were able to tap into their vast resources. There’s a shit ton of oil in the South, coal in the East and agricultural food production potential was massive—also minerals. But since they weren’t ingenious enough to utilize these resources we get fed the bullshit narrative about Indians basically being altruistic hippies, at one with the Earth and conservative with the environment. In short, AI is gay.

  12. From what I can observe from the Left, they don’t currently even want to make peace with the other side. That Hillary was right about “deplorables.”. Even though a Left/Right coalition on keeping the US out of yet another stupid war would hugely benefit the country. WTF do they want? A civil war? Balkanization? Why do they disregard so many?     1. I have barely looked into the Switch 2, so this was news to me. The correct term is “ghosting”. I would have expected Digital Foundry to have mastered the terminology. That the Switch 2 screen suffers from excessive ghosting is quite a disappointment. It is not overall worse, as the resolution is a bit higher, and Nintendo has to make money somehow. I do not think it is cynical to expect them to release an updated Switch 2 model with a better screen, and a hefty markup, in two to three years, similar to what they did with the Switch vs Switch OLED hardware variants.

    2. Haha I think he was just explaining it for the layman but he does say “4 individual ghost images”. I concede that the screen is overall not worse, however. A more correct evaluation would have been to say the screen has a slower response time maybe. This is probably not going to be an issue with a lot of games as noted, but if you were playing a horizontal shmup, for example, then it could be a noticeably worse experience than on the Switch predecessor. I don’t remember Mark_MSX bringing this up and he tested shmups for lag input on it, so most people probably won’t notice or care, especially if they are playing mostly 3D games on it. I think the S2’s upscaling technology is where it really excels. Also, the screen is 120 hz.

      On a philosophical note, I think Nintendo is completely cynical. If not cynical then something else. Maybe cutthroat is also a good descriptor. I do not admire Nintendo anymore, though I guess you can’t help but respect them.

    1. This is utterly ridiculous. Long gone are apparently the days were you could pick up a last-generation console for a low price. Well, Sony is also hiking the price of the PlayStation 5. This console gets cheaper and cheaper to produce, yet you need to spend an ever-increasing amount of money to buy one. How did we end up in this timeline?

    2. Worst timeline for gaming. Apparently, Nintendo is facing legal issues with Brazil currently for bricking Switch 2s. I saw an amusing story about someone’s system getting bricked because they named their profile “Twink Link”. I don’t how accurate this is, but if true then things are getting way out of hand. Owning a S2 is the equivalent of purchasing a license to operate the hardware. It’s “own nothing and be happy” level shit.

    1. This trailer does not look good. Worse, Running Man is not a strong IP, so I question the decision-making ability of whoever green-lit this project.

    Also, there is this AI folky rock band being passed off as legit called The Velvet Sundown. It gets thousands of plays on Spotify every month. I feel pretty strongly at this point that all AI content needs to have some kind of indicator at this point, because it’s only going to blur the lines between fiction and reality even more as it continues to improve. There is also the issue that our rulers could easily bypass such restrictions and regulations to fuck with us. Perhaps there will always be softwares or something available to run different types of AI generated media through so as to look for certain cues for authenticity.

    1. Detecting AI-generated content will become more and more difficult. When was the last time you spotted more than five fingers on an AI-generated image of a human? Vocal generation is already at an incredibly high level, images are far above what we saw last year, and the next frontier is AI-generated video. It may take just two or three more years until it will be next to impossible to detect AI meddling.

    2. Yeah, AI has very noticeably improved. Gone are the days of deformed hands. Do you think there is a hard cap for how much such technology can advance?

    3. I don’t think there is a real limit. The actual problem are diminishing returns, i.e. after a certain point, ever-smaller further improvements will become more and more costly. This is a very well-known phenomenon in computing. Computer graphics are a great point: The leap from the SNES to PSX was enormous, PSX to PS2 still quite impressive, but every subsequent generational change was less and less so.

    4. As I’ve said before, it’s one thing that AI has advanced enough so it can plausibly replace graphic designers or office “girl jobs” in general. But even in a place like the US where construction is so practical and automatized compared to even other 1st world countries, I have a hard time seeing AI taking over most jobs there. When it happens, then I’ll join the Skynet doomsdayism.

    6. This is very likely a factor. It is quite obvious that the goal is still to undermine the middle class, but apparently cultural enrichment has reached such a high degree that even the elites have a hard time avoiding it at times. Also, it was part of the right-wing capitalist playbook to use some of the illegal immigrants as cheap labor and offload the unproductive members of this class, surely very few people, onto the welfare state. I think the goal is dialing back immigration, not stopping it completely, so that there is an optimal level, i.e. enough for the middle class to feel overwhelmed, develop PTSD, and dampen its will to procreate, but not enough for the elites to be affected in their day-to-day life. A phenomenon I have read up on recently is “peak labor”, but not as an abstract theory. Amazon is a great example: the company is still growing, but the number of workers is declining. Automation in their warehouses has increased by a factor of ten in the last decade. Even in big tech we see this decline, with giants like Microsoft and others reducing headcount while the company is doing better than ever. Partly this is due to bloat in tech. Firing diversity hires is one aspect but it is also true that the industry has made great strides with regards to standardizing software engineering, leading to increased productivity. Just look at gaming: there are a lot of stories of small teams putting out really impressive games. The original Super Mario Bros. on the NES was made by a team of five, which was 40 years ago. With five people you can nowadays make a pretty good AA game.

      I suspect that’s exactly why Trump was allowed to win the election and why mass deportations are suddenly on the table, with the enemy media even allowed to admit the overwhelming public support for them, whereas mere months ago they were unthinkable. AI is going to wipe out white-collar jobs by the tens of millions, minimum. The elites had decades to drive blue collar workers to fentanyl and deaths of despair as their jobs were shipped overseas. This is happening much faster, and this latest batch of economically non-viable people might be too large and angry to dispose of as easily.

      From what I hear, the empty suits there are thinking, “Here’s new technology that increases productivity, so let’s fire a bunch of people, scare the rest into doing more with less, and buy more doomsday bunkers with the proceeds.” Business as usual, in other words.

    1. I will check out this video later. In other gaming news, we have recently seen the long-awaited release of Leslie Benzies’ MindsEye, which is an enormous flop. Benzies was one of the key figures at Rockstar Games. It is another example of one of the supposed greats of the industry striking out on its own and failing. This leads to Kojima, who has, quite amazingly, managed to continue his career after leaving Konami without missing a beat.

    2. It is true that the original Death Stranding sold more than any MGS game, so Kojima seems to be doing very well in his career. I can sum up SM’s video for you. It touches on the nature and story of Death Stranding 2, but the video is mostly SM venting about soy-ciety and lamenting on the plight of being a mayocel. A lot of interesting points are raised.

      • DS2 sees you playing as a straight white male in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, serving as a never-ending cog in the machine to keep a barely functioning civilization running while also scrambling to globalize what is left.

      • The game is the equivalent of a modern AAA farming simulator, trucking driving sim, or car washing sim etc.

      • The protagonist is DS2 is so painfully average whilst being surrounded by uber powerful girl bosses.

      • Ironically, the protagonist of DS2 is subjected to a myriad of copes that modern men gravitate towards, such as lolis, for example.

      • Kojima has placed all his cards on the table and exposed himself as a massive leftoid. Even The Boss from MGS3 serves as earlier evidence of this, as the gamer is told that she is supposedly the greatest soldier to ever have lived up to that point.

      •DS2 is essentially a wage slave simulator promoting leftist propaganda.

    3. Thanks for the summary! I put it on in the background and just finished listening to it. Overall, it is pretty good. The best line is towards the end when he says, “We are not even allowed to fantasize about the things we want anymore.” This statement hits the nail on its head, at least as far as Western-made mainstream media is concerned. The bigger topic is that video games are a tool for keeping disenfranchises men busy. When you look at how much busywork there is in typical AAA games, this is not at all a far-fetched hypotheses. Also note that the days of mainstream politicians raging against videogames are long over. Today, this medium has the full support of the elites. After all, if farming materials for dozens of hours week after week prevents another Hitler from rising up it will all have been worth it.

    4. That is a great observation. At some point the establishment must have realized that banning vidya was either unfeasible, or that it could be a vehicle for social engineering and potential profiteering. Some good news, however, is that plenty of Western companies are in trouble. You may have heard of the upcoming Perfect Dark cancellation and firings. One less bad apple to worry about. When you think about the future of super immersive vidya you might imagine a landscape of games filled with medieval fantasy lands and hots chicks begging to suck you off, but we might instead get shitty job simulators and post-apocalyptic nightmares. At best, it may be games like the Witcher 4 filled with increasingly diverse and ugly characters and NPCs—much like real life.

    5. The existence of the Shitty Job Simulator genre is truly baffling. Imagine wage-cucking in some dead-end job during the day and spending your spare time on virtual wage-cucking! To add insult to injury, these games are commercial products, so people pay money for the experience of working in a computer game. This timeline is more bizarre than anyone could have imagined two or three decades ago.

    6. The Perfect Dark reboot was one of the most bizarre projects in modern gaming. This is an IP nobody has cared about for two decades. It was a follow-up to GoldenEye 007, which was a massive hit on the N64. Yet, Perfect Dark fell far short in terms of sales. I just looked up the data: GoldenEye sold 8 million, an incredible number given the N64 user base, and Perfect Dark sold only a comparatively measly 2.5 million copies, and the Xbox 360 sequel moved only one million copies. This is the franchise Microsoft wanted to revive. They founded the game studio “The Initiative” for it, and from 2018 to 2025 they only burnt money. I do not quite understand the business strategy Microsoft is pursuing as it is utterly nonsensical to buy up one mid-tier studio after another, hire people with a questionable track record, and expect them to produce hits, in addition to launching new game studios that are allowed to spin their wheels for half a decade. If you told me that these studios were set up to serve as fronts for money-laundering activities, I would not dismiss the thought out of hand.

    7. I think the wage cuck simulator phenomenon is so popular because there are perhaps lots of unemployed people that feel purposeless enough to want to sink overtime amounts of hours into them. It makes no sense that we get reboots of mediocre IPs left and right. We talking about Running Man also, for example. Too many “creatives” lacking talent and determination to pull off anything outstanding, I feel. Oversaturated slop.

    1. I find it disappointing that even the world of classical music has been taken over by e-thottery. Yuja Wang, for instance, is a very talented pianist but I find it jarring that she has to excessively draw attention to her (rapidly fading) looks. In this regard she is no different than any random cute girl online with a modicum of skills, and potentially a fake audio track.

    2. That sounded super clean almost like a synth, yet I couldn’t help but notice how bad her left hand technique looked. Then I noticed the comments were turned off and you know thots love comments. Except perhaps negative feedback regarding miming.   21. I don’t really know much of what went into this recent BBW Bill, but I understand it will ultimately end up putting the US further into debt. I just had a random thought, though, that whenever a new bill gets passed you can rest assured there are some hidden clauses that are meant to screw the average person over in the long run. I don’t know if there has ever been an exception, at least not in my lifetime. Just assume that whenever you hear about a new bill, you’re definitely getting fucked one way or another.

    1. The “big, beautiful bill” has 940 pages, so you can rest assured that there are quite a few surprises waiting for us. This is a good example of how broken the legislative process is. How many senate members have read it in its entirety, and how much internal debate has there been on it? It is a total clown show. This train has no brakes and if the next president can get away with it, you will see bills with tens of thousands of pages, stuffed with gobbledygook, just to hide the juicy bits.

    2. I have an idea. Cut Israel off. Would save billions right there. But… They ain’t doing that. Apparently this bill is not so beautiful.

      When you guys talk about infrastructure, what do you mean exactly?

      I find American infrastructure to be very good. Public transport in major city tend to be very good, except for NYC, because it is old, understandably. American culture is a driving culture so in smaller cities or rural area, public transport is reserved for the poor. I find American city planning to be better than Chinese one, because where I live, you see trees and natural parks everywhere. Shanghai and Beijing are like concrete juggernaut, with artificial parks and polluted air.

      Chinese public trans-national transport is better, but other aspects aren’t better than America.
