Why Big Tech is Investing in Image/Video Manipulation AI Tools

One of the bigger recent stories in AI-powered clown world is that Google is behind the viral app Nano Banana, a tool that is able to very proficiently modify existing images. You do not start from scratch each time. Instead, you can feed it images you want to use and make modifications step-by-step. If you want a very realistic picture of a tiger sitting on the sofa in your living room, Nano Banana can do it. There seems to be a lot of censorship, in particular if images of women are involved, so forget about creating a collection of images of super-hot women in your apartment. You will have to get them the old-fashioned way. Obviously, the version Google sells to the government will not have any such pesky restrictions. One of the use cases of this tool is most certainly the ability to generate endless amount of child porn, ready to be planted on the computer of perceived enemies of the regime. This is only the start, however.

I find it baffling that we pretend that image manipulation is a B2C product. For the average guy, such apps are at best a distraction. Its use is primarily of a commercial nature. The relevant domains are advertising, gaming, and movie creation. This is where the big bucks are. However, I think there is a much more sinister motive, i.e. the attempt to create effectively an alternative version of reality. Obviously, the elites manipulating images is nothing new. However, with AI there will be many more possibilities. Arguably the most pervasive delusion of the left is that words shape reality. For example, “retards” do not disappear if we call them “special”. Instead, the euphemistic treadmill kicks in, and “special” takes on a new meaning on its own. Reality ultimately always prevails. Unable to realize this, the left is gearing up for an entirely new ploy: using advanced image manipulation to shape your view of reality. This kind of large-scale manipulation hearkens back to at least the 1938 “War of the Worlds” psy-ops, which made many people believe that aliens had invaded the planet. This was the power of mere words! Imagine what governments can do with a large-scale psy-op with fully manipulated pictures and videos! This would also easily eclipse the third-rate acting we are frequently exposed to. Just think of the Covid psy-ops and the utter bullshit the world was exposed to.

With advanced AI the government will be able to create any kind of reality is pleases. However, the silver lining is that this will not work as long as people are able to go out and, for instance, verify that there clearly is no pandemic going on. The elites are working on this, too, with their plan of squeezing people into residential towers in their 15-minute-cities wet dream, while they themselves of course keep on living in giant mansions sitting on enormous plots of land. I can see the elites being so deluded that they go all-in, only to completely lose the last shreds of credibility they have. However, if there are some smarter players left, they would use a much more sophisticated approach, for instance by selectively manipulating video footage. This would mean that you will see many more rioting whites, and more stories of perfectly well-integrated third-world immigrants.

In the end, AI will only be a monkey’s paw in the hand of the elites, for the simple reason that neither words, nor images, nor videos will be able to change reality, only their representation. From an accelerationist perspective, I therefore fully support the government setting up an entire ministry staffed with DEI hires, working on churning out high-tech propaganda. In the past, you could often observe that the memes basically write itself. With advanced AI in the hand of the leftist regime, they will directly create memes for us. Thus, I think the most likely outcomes is that large-scale manipulation of videos and images by the elites will completely destroy the credibility of videos and images. This could be the end of mass media, with people instead only relying on their favorite “influencers”, which of course can also be elite sock puppets, but this is still an improvement over the status quo as the elites will no longer be able to easily manipulate mainstream opinion. They are struggling heavily with it already.
