For some reason, YouTube recently recommended a video to me with the title “The disturbing life of German pensioners in Thailand”. The video is in German, but even without subtitles, you will quickly figure out what it is about. Even the video thumbnail, which puts a supposedly 73-year-old guy next two four Thai women who are 16, 18, 19, and 21, is probably a good-enough summary. In short, we see a bunch of white men who moved to Thailand to enjoy the twilight years of their life. Rent, food and women are cheap, and the weather is great.

The pensioners features in this video seemed to not have any delusions. They know that the women hang out with them in exchange for money but on the other hand, these men in their 60s and 70s still get to pound a sexy Thai woman in her 20s, for a rather modest amount of money. These men also do not really believe that they were being taken advantage of financially, nor do I get the sense that the women were exploiting the loneliness of these men. Instead, all I see are mutually beneficial transactions which both enjoy. The women are not slaves, after all, so there has to be a baseline of sympathy for any kind of commitment of these women, even though it is pay for play.

I do not think in the slightest that men who leave the West behind to enjoy a decade or two in SEA deserve to be ridiculed. They make informed decisions, and considering the cost of living, these guys clearly come out ahead. In Germany, with its notoriously low public pensions, you can barely make ends meet in retirement if you did not manage to save up a lot of money yourself. Obviously, money for the many millions of cultural enrichers has to come from somewhere and if this means working until 67 and getting a pension of 1.500 euros per month. Of course, this is the amount before taxes and social security contributions. The average German pension does not buy you a lot in Germany, but you get a lot for it in Thailand. (This is another German-language video but this is not that relevant. You could even mute the video as you only need to see the various kinds of accommodation and their price tag.)

In the West, society takes advantage of every productive member of society. Your taxes are used to finance a metastasizing government, countless NGOs, and illegal immigrants. You clearly need a lot of idealism to keep going to work and putting in more than the bare minimum of effort. After decades of this charade, moving to a low-cost country doubtlessly seems like a very attractive option.

The underlying view behind videos like the above seems to be that white men are supposed to suck it up all their live: pay taxes, work, marry some roastie, don’t speak up if your politicians ruin your country, embrace unfettered mass immigration. Apparently, the goal is for you to be dead broke at the end of your life, with everything squeezed out of you. Well, why not rise up in your own, personal way? Moving to Thailand in your 50s or early 60 seems to be a better choice than remaining on the Western treadmill. It is simply an example of geoarbitrage. Our rulers do the same: they import cheap labor from abroad, move corporate headquarters to tax havens, and generally look for getting the biggest bang for the buck, without a trace of allegiance to any country. It’s fine if they do it but if you do it, you clearly prove that you are a reprehensible human being, shirking your civic duties and responsibilities.

Of course, none of these criticisms are raised when fat, white hags fly to Africa, paying local men for sex. In that case, it is empowerment. This is love, unlike with Western men and their young Thai women. On top, Western women even get to lament being taken advantage of if one of their black gigolos cannot take sticking it into their rotten crotch anymore and bails. In that case, the poor, helpless, empowered menopausal woman was being deceived and misled by the man. Once again, patriarchy is suppressing women, no matter where they go. In contrast, wherever men go, they obviously are the oppressors.
