Look at this future pussy slayer!

In the comments section there was recently a discussion on old PUA concepts being alive and kicking. I think it was Alek Novy who remarked that the few remaining companies are no longer absurdly ridiculous and distance themselves from their former teachings. Out of curiosity, I clicked around a little bit. Note that I’m not saying that Alek Novy is wrong, but I came a cross a video that I first mistook for a parody, until I noticed that it was posted on the official RSD YouTube channel.

As a warmup, look at this picture:

He’s whacking an imaginary penis in public while the room is apparently “getting pumped”. Man, what a fucking loser. Of course, we are just haters:

Here’s the entire clip. If you are currently sipping from your protein shake, better put it down. You’ve been warned.

  1. I was actually struggling to illustrate the difference with words, because I don’t want to sound like I’m saying “RSD in 2017 isn’t too bad”.

I guess (i’ll try again) I want to say:

    – 2017 RSD is 97% absurd quasi-spirituality with 3% good advice
    – 2001 RSD was 100% cheesy clowns

Both are bad in practical terms for sure. But in terms of difference. One is 300% less worse than the other. The overall context is that it seems marketers are trying to rehash and recycle 2001 game. Apparently products/teachers are popping up who are teaching the 2001 stuff.

    1. One might say “how is going from horrible to horrible progress Alek”, and that view has a point. But if you measure it quantitatively, it’s a big jump. Sure at this rate it will take them 300 years to reach sanity, but it’s progress.

Marketers popping up teaching the 2001 stuff and infecting new generation with it is in fact a regression.

  2. I think the community has evolved a bit in the last ten or 15 years in that most people do not talk about routines, peacocking has mostly been dropped and most PUA adherents do not try NLP. You do not even hear much about inner game stuff, either. That is why it catches my eye when I go on forums and hear a lot of dated concepts like “Cocky and Funny” being brought up, along with a lot of other ideas from 10 or more years ago. There also seem to be a few new entrants into the PUA instructor market showing up on internet forums, and their material is really “Back to the Future” in terms of the schtick. As Alek says, the mainstream of the community is probably less crazy and more cringeworthy, which is progress of a sort. In terms of actual effectiveness, it still does not work, but adherents may not act as deranged as before.

Regarding the RSD videos, it looks like they are mimicking a lot of the self-help rallies that gurus like Tony Robbins do, which is a logical progression as a lot of the RSD stuff was always kind of quasi-spiritual.

  3. As a fairly introverted guy, I don’t have a lot of background to judge this kind of social “male bonding” on Aaron…

Are you sure this guy is pretending to beat it? It looks like he could be playing “air guitar”.

  4. if they would only spend a fraction off the time they waste on chasing women on a job. they would make enough money to hire a top class escort. you should only practice pick up if you do it for the game it self. it’s a total waste off time if you do it for the women. me and my friends did it sometimes just for the fun off it (without all the bullshit techniques) and i have to say that the dogfights are most fun. a dogfight is a contest who can makeout with the ugliest girl, winner drinks for free. specially when a friend would end up drunk and he would wake up next to her in total shock. we had some crazy desperate escape stories going around. always fun when your friends jump out off windows and run around half naked while suffering a hangover. the pick up scene got much to serious. it should be about having fun with the guys. the women should be secondary. so this might be great for the pua scene. i’m sure it would scare the women away but he does seem to have fun in a slightly autistic type off way.

    1. If you just want to get more (or higher quality) chicks into your life (whether lays or girlfriends — the ROI and opportunity cost associated with “maximizing game” is ridiculous to the point where you have to be an imbecile to do it. Unless like you said it’s a fun hobby and you enjoy it for the ‘game itself’ for some reason.

Other strategies (and especially combined/mixed strategies) literally have a return on investment that’s as much as 400-500-600-700% bigger.

  5. Holy shit. I was just browsing through this blog again after a few months away, and this still fucking makes me lose my shit as much as the first time I saw it.
